Living room, ceiling, walls Ceiling and wall treatments. The painting in between the ceiling beams were painted on canvas strips and glued to the ceiling like wallpaper. The architectural mouldings and limestone blocks on the wall were painted directly onto the flat drywall surface for a trompe l'oeil effect. Through the archway you can see a part of the painted vaulted ceiling of the semi-circular sunroom. (see next picture)
